Shifty Stations were stages that Marina designed using Octo. + Octarian technology has become fairly commonplace in the Splatlands & Inkopolis, as you can see from the new spawners in the stages and the floating stages used during the Splatfest. A pun on Tsuiku no Kubikazari (Necklace of Memories), by Takako Hashimoto. Hot Take: Shifty Stations were a lot more fun. It is also likely a play on the phrase "way cool". Wayslide Cool is named after the Wayside School books by Louis Sachar, as well as being a pun on the large sliding platforms seen in the stage. It has also been missing the sound effect that plays while the moving platforms are in motion since its return. This stage was one of five returning stages to lack the ambience that other Shifty Stations had in Recon mode during Chaos vs.are listed as Deli00 and Deli01, respectively, meaning they may have been completed before this stage. Strangely, Windmill House on the Pearlie and The Secret of S.P.L.A.T.The filename for this stage is "Deli02" and the codename is "Push", likely referring to how the moving platforms push players around. The cannons in the Octo Expansion use the Octo Canyon design and function, having unlimited ink, but with the Kamabo Corporation logo branded on them.Ĭannons return in Salmon Run Next Wave during Cohock Charge. Neither Ink Saver (Main) nor Ink Saver (Sub) affect this consumption.Cannon Fire Pearl has three Ink Cannons that look and function like the ones in Salmon Run but consume 16% of the player's ink tank with each shot rather than the usual 10%.The player must be aware when using the cannons because they can still be hit by any Salmonids and eaten by Maws. The cannons are powerful enough to defeat any lesser Salmonid with one shot and most Boss Salmonids with one or two shots, depending on where they were hit.Other than this, these cannons function the same as the ones in single-player modes. When inside one of these cannons, the player's ink meter is shown along the right side of the screen. These cannons are shaped like a sphere with a muzzle protruding out and do consume the user's ink when fired, forcing the player to periodically exit the cannon to refill. During the Cohock Charge Known Occurrence, a slightly different kind of Ink Cannon appears near the shoreline. It functions identically to the first game. The Ink Cannon's appearance was slightly modified in Splatoon 2, with it looking like a checkpoint with a cannon and artillery shield. When successful, Agent 3 will meet with six Octocopters and an Octobomber near the original location of the platform. In Checkpoint 3 at Propeller-Lift Fortress, there is an Ink Cannon that has to be used in order to fetch a propeller platform.Using this Ink Cannon makes the sponge section easier so that Octotroopers and Octocopters will not be in the way. The mission Floating Sponge Garden holds an Ink Cannon at the Final Checkpoint. This can be used to ink a large wall guarded by a Squee-G and two Twintacile Octotroopers waiting at the top of the wall. There is a hidden Launchpad in Checkpoint 6 that can be found hidden under some small crates that take Agent 3 to the last checkpoint. The first Ink Cannon can be found in Lair of the Octoballs. There is also a short cooldown after shooting a missile before being able to launch another missile. The view zooms in significantly when using an Ink Cannon, similar to using a scoped charger. Ink Cannons typically do not use any of the ink from the player's ink tank. Firing the cannon works the same as the main weapon, as it fires with and has an aiming reticle. The missiles are affected by gravity and have a limited range. The damage does not seem to taper off with distance from the impact point, dealing the full amount over the entire splash range. Splatoon 3 has 20 total stages, with 10 new. It also introduced the Shifty Station, a Splatfest-exclusive stage with 24 unique layouts that rotated between fests. The second game, Splatoon 2, has 23 standard stages, featuring 14 all-new stages and 9 stages returning from the first game. Ink Cannons fire missiles which can travel great distances and deal a large amount of damage. The first game in the series, Splatoon, has 16 stages.
